Fry-day on Sunday

Megan is home from college this weekend for a job interview. While here, she wanted some input on an assignment she has for one of her classes. Her task is to create a "new" food that could be packaged and sold in a grocery store or market. We decided that any food that is fried is pretty tasty, so we experimented with fried biscuits with various fillings. Everyone in the family got in on the action. We made our dough from a recipe called "Johnny cake", that we found on a site that has traditional Jamaican recipes. It is really just a basic white flour biscuit recipe that is fried (not cornmeal based like American "Johnny cake"). We tried all kinds of fillings: cream cheese and jam, peanut butter, honey, ham and cheese, chocolate, etc. We ran out of dough before we could try the other suggestions: tuna, pepperoni, hot dogs . . . Everything we tried was truly delicious. There's just something about dipping anything in hot oil that makes it yummy!

How was I not invited to that party? You know I will be there any time food is involved :) Looks yummy! So which one was the absolute winner?
